Built by someone who lost buyers this way

VerityNodes is run by Aqeel Abbas. Thirty years designing and selling complex, highly regulated surgical and medical instruments into more than 65 countries — to procurement managers, hospital buyers and distributors, under ISO 13485 and CE regimes.

Background

The short version

Long, committee-driven sales where being on the shortlist was the whole game. Then the questions his own buyers used to ask started being answered by a machine, with other companies’ names in the answer.

Different product, identical sale. A surgical instrument and an end-of-line packaging line are both technical, both regulated, both bought by a committee over months, and both chosen from a shortlist drawn up long before anyone picks up the phone.

He built this method on his own sites first, and now runs it for other people. Every engagement is run by him.

The relevance

Why that matters here

This is not a marketing background. It is a selling background — which is why the method starts with the questions a buyer actually asks rather than with keywords, and why the audit exists before the retainer.

  • The buyer is not the user A hospital procurement manager signs for an instrument a surgeon will hold. A plant director signs for a palletiser an operator will run. Neither buyer uses the thing daily, so both lean heavily on what other people say about it.
  • Compliance decides the shortlist before price does ISO 13485 and CE for a surgical instrument. Machinery, hygiene and food-contact standards for a packaging line. In both, a supplier who cannot evidence compliance is removed early, and never told why.
  • Several people hold a veto Engineering, quality, procurement and finance each have to be satisfied. The evaluation runs for months and nobody buys on a single visit.
  • It is bought rarely A line is replaced once in a decade, so the buyer starts from almost no experience and researches it from scratch. That research is where AI now sits.

End-of-line packaging is where the pattern is sharpest, which is why it is our deepest coverage and the first category in the AI Visibility Index.

The method was built by running it on my own sites before it was sold to anyone. Same sequence: write down the questions buyers actually ask, test them across the systems, record who gets named, then work on the gap and test again. That is where the four-to-six month figure comes from — not from a study, from watching how long it took. It is also where the decision to sell an audit before a retainer came from. Measuring first was the only way to tell whether any of it was working.
